EMC Symmetrix VMAX 20K


EMC Symmetrix VMAX 20K is an advanced multi-controller unified storage system. The Virtual Matrix architecture is a new way to build storage systems that allows for scaling of system resources through common and fully redundant building blocks called VMAX 20K series engines.  Up to eight VMAX 20K engines can be interconnected via a set of multiple active fabrics that provide high availability. A single-engine Symmetrix VMAX 20K can start with as few as 48 drives. By scaling up to eight engines the system can support 2400 drives with a capacity of up to 2.0 petabytes of usable storage space in a single system. With automated tiered storage capability for maximum TCO value, Symmetrix VMAX 20K delivers full enterprise-class performance to serve as the benchmark in today’s advanced intelligent storage systems.
